The Football Transfer was busy this afternoon as punters enjoyed another ‘Super Sunday’ of football action, although the football on show certainly failed to live up its name.
However some intriguing transfer speculation has caused a late-night stir in the bar as David Kidd from The Mirror indicates that Everton boss Roberto Martinez has outlined a summer move for Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen.
The 23-year-old has failed to shine at Anfield following his transfer from Swansea 18 months ago, and has started in seven of the Reds Premier League matches this season.
Despite this, Toffees boss Roberto Martinez, who worked with the Welsh international at the Liberty Stadium, remains a big fan of Allen and has viewed him a suitable addition for his current outfit.
With Gareth Barry set to return to Manchester City, Everton have space for the Liverpool man to slot into their side.
And Brendan Rodgers may be willing to cut his losses with the player who still has three-and-half years left on his deal at Anfield.
It is thought that a figure around £10million would land Allen, and we think that he’d be a great signing for the Toffees.
Will Allen make the switch across Stanley Park? Let us know your thoughts below.
