Everton have certainly made moves on the transfer front so far this summer, but there’re still improvements to be made as the transfer window deadline edges closer.
The Toffees have been one of the big spenders in the Premier League so far this summer and they don’t look anywhere near being finished yet as they continue to hunt for a central defender. Although, it appears as if they’re ready to walk away from a potential transfer, as according to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are poised to walk away from talks with Barcelona for defender Yerry Mina.
Interestingly, Everton are refusing to pay over the odds for Barcelona’s Yerry Mina and could now end their pursuit of the World Cup star.
The Blues had already started looking into alternatives to the 23-year-old and as talks with the Spanish giant continue to prove difficult the club are prepared to walk away.
Indeed, the Merseyside club are desperate to bring in a central defender before the transfer window shuts, having waved goodbye to Ashley Williams earlier on in the window.
The Toffees have already splashed the cash this summer and they could spend even more over the next few days, but it doesn’t look as if Yerry Mina will be making his way to Goodison Park.
Indeed, having splashed the cash on former Watford attacker Richarlison already this summer, it looks as if Marco Silva is reluctant to go big once again.
Everton only currently have three central defenders at their disposal, so it’s worrying times for supporters. But, with five days still left in the summer transfer window, Silva should be able to bring in reinforcements.
