Everton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have had a lot to get excited about with and new owner and manager equipped with a war chest to rival the top clubs. They have been eagerly awaiting Ronald Koeman’s first big money move, but their wait may be over.
According to reports from Gazzetta World, the Toffees are still offering up stiff competition to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea in the race to sign Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.
Both sides are keen to bolster their defensive options before the start of the new season and the Senegalese international is seen as an ideal addition by both managers, who both favour ball playing defenders.
The big money offer from Goodison Park could, however, be a sign that English defender, John Stones, is on his way out with the 22-year-old having been linked with a move to Man City.
Everton and Chelsea fans, we want to hear from you! How good of an addition would Koulibaly be to either side? Who is more likely to land his signature? Let us know below…
