Everton readying £10 million swoop to land skillful Championship star

HughesThe Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern were delighted at the news that Leeds United player Sam Byram had made the switch to their club this weekend and if you believe what is written in the papers they could be set for another swoop on the Championship.

Our resident Toffee supporting DJ has spotted an article in his copy of today’s Metro that suggests Roberto Martinez is set to offer Derby County £10 million for midfield dynamo Will Hughes.

The 20-year-old has not played since injuring a knee ligament during the opening fixture of the season but the Toffees boss is keen to secure the services of the highly-rated Ram.

Hughes is a regular for the England Under-21’s and looks destined to play in the Premier League at some point during his career.

One Derby County fan here in the Tavern is having a go on the fruit machine and thinks the Rams would be stupid to sell one of their prized assets now, although he does concede that should the Rams bottle promotion once again then Hughes is likely to be sold.

Everton fans… Would you welcome Hughes to the club? Let us know in the comments below!
