Manchester United fans are looking pleased with the latest news from the Daily Express, who claim that David Moyes could finally be set to land his man.
As we all know, Moyes has been chasing after Leighton Baines for some time now, and despite seeing several attempts in the summer fail, could be set to get the Christmas present he wants most of all.
A move for the player who is now considered by many to be England’s number one choice at left back for the trip to Brazil this summer is on the cards and a £15 million bid is ready and waiting for Everton as soon as the January transfer window opens.
Our punters bring up two rather interesting facts upon hearing this news. Firstly, this will of course place the future of current left back Patrice Evra in further doubt, with the Frenchman already questioning his future.
Secondly, it also leaves a rather large gap in the Everton back line. Roberto Martinez is reportedly considering moves for a couple of young stars, including Chelsea’s Ryan Bertrand and also Southampton’s Luke Shaw.
Bertrand has failed to convince Jose Mourinho since his second coming at the Bridge and despite the injury to Ashley Cole, has failed to make the line up – and is often subbed off when he actually does. A move away from the club will soon have to be considered – even if it was on loan until the end of the season.
Shaw meanwhile is one of the brightest young stars but is happy on the South coast and keen to stay, at least for the foreseeable future, especially given how well the club are doing.
Will Moyes finally get his man and spark a left back chase for Everton? Let us know your thoughts below.
