Everton readying £20m bid for European hotshot which could spell end to Rooney return

It was a poor afternoon for Everton in the Premier League this weekend as they lost to struggling Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

The Toffees fans lining the bar here in the pub were seriously disappointed to come off 1-0 losers to the struggling Swans, in a game which suggested their team are already on holiday.

With European football in the bag, the Toffees have very little left to play for and their performance against Swansea was a little jaded throughout.

But a boost to the Everton fans who weren’t at all happy with the performance yesterday is the news linking them with a move for Ajax hotshot Davy Klaassen.

According to the Mirror, Ronald Koeman is ready to press ahead with a £20million move for the attacking midfielder, which could put an end to any Wayne Rooney return to Goodison Park.

The playmaker has scored a staggering 20 goals in 51 appearances this season.

Klaassen is in the form of his career and has been a big part of the Ajax side that has done so well in the Europa League too, with the Dutch giants looking like potential opposition for Manchester United in the final.
