Everton fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can return to winning ways, after being held to a 0-0 draw last time out in the Premier League against Liverpool.
The Toffees will be desperate to finish the season strongly after struggling for consistency throughout, with a couple of stern tests coming up over the next few weeks. Although, many of our local Evertonians received some positive news prior to kick-off at the Liberty Stadium, as according to BBC Sport’s pre-match team news, Phil Jagielka should recover from a knock.
Indeed, Phil Jagielka was influential at the heart of Everton’s defence in their goalless draw with bitter rivals Liverpool last time out, but he did pick up a knock which made supporters fear the worst.
However, it now looks as if the Englishman should recover in time to face Swansea City later today, in what will be a huge game for the Toffees after failing to win their last two Premier League fixtures.
Everton will be delighted if their club captain can recover in time for today’s game, as he played a huge part in the Merseyside derby result last time out. Therefore, many of our local residents are feeling extremely confident about the trip to face Swansea City, as Jagielka’s inclusion should make it impossible for the Swans to find a way through.
