Everton rejected summer approach for Cenk Tosun

Everton have had a slow and disappointing start to the Premier League season once again as they have struggled to find – and keep out – goals.

Marco Silva would have been looking for his side have gotten off to a better start under his guidance, however, they have only been able to win one of their six games so far.

The strikers have failed to light up the Goodison Park outfit this summer, and according to Fotomac, one of them may not have even been at the club for this current campaign.

According to the Turkish media outlet, Cenk Tosun was on the radar of Besiktas and they allegedly made an approach to try and bring him back to Istanbul on a temporary deal.

The forward, who only joined Everton in January, had a decent start to his career on Merseyside with five goals last season, however, he has failed to find the back of the net in his seven appearances across all competitions so far.

Despite having only been at the club for less than a year, Fotomac have also claimed that a move in January could happen, should the Turkey international fail to improve.

The Verdict:

Everton are in need of a prolific attacker, although there will have been some surprise if Tosun had left in the summer.

The Turkish forward had started his Everton career brightly but the Toffees have been struggling to find goals for some time now.

If the 27-year-old does not improve in the immediate future, he could be making a swift return to Besiktas and the Super Lig.
