It would not be a surprise to see Everton use the summer transfer window as an opportunity to rebuild their squad again following a rather disappointing Premier League campaign.
Marco Silva’s side have struggled to find any consistency at times this season and he could look to address a number of different areas in his team – should he still be at Goodison Park beyond the end of the campaign.
And, according to a report by Record, via Sport Witness, it appears The Toffees have a rather impressive attacking midfielder on their radar.
It is claimed Everton are just one of a number of clubs interested in Sporting Lisbon’s star man Bruno Fernandes, with Liverpool and Atletico Madrid also keen.
The 24-year-old’s future at the Portuguese outfit is thought to be in doubt amid financial concerns, however, he is not expected to be available at a cut price.
Fernandes has been in fine form this season, notching 22 goals and providing 11 assists so far, meaning Sporting could look to demand whatever they want for the Portugal international.
There is no doubt Fernandes, who is valued at £27 million (by Transfermarkt), would be an excellent addition to the Everton side in the summer, however, whether a move for him is viable remains to be seen.
With the likes of Liverpool and Atletico Madrid believed to be interested, they will be able to offer him European football, whilst The Toffees appear to be lingering around mid-table in the Premier League.
Plus, with the amount of money he could end up costing a club to sign him, whether he remains in Everton’s transfer budget is also another reason as to why the 24-year-old would be a hugely ambitious transfer target.
