Everton set to confirm Bernard deal

Everton are thought to be on the verge of sealing a huge coup this summer as they look to pick up their transfer business in the final days of the transfer window.

Marco Silva has not been very active so far when it comes down to making additions, although the Toffees have already added Richarlison and Lucas Digne to their squad.

However, according to reports, the new manager could be about to land one of the summer’s biggest transfers and bring him to Goodison Park.

The Daily Mail are claiming that Everton are closing in on a shock deal to sign Bernard on a free transfer and could announce it within the near future, should he be granted a work permit.

It is understood that Silva was an influential figure in bringing the talented attacker to the club, as it is believed the 26-year-old was convinced by his personal intervention.

The Brazil international was thought to be on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs this summer following his decision to leave Shakhtar Donetsk at the end of his contract.

The Verdict:

Should Everton confirm a deal about the arrival of Bernard, it will be considered a huge coup for the club.

The 26-year-old has been widely regarded as a talented attacker and has been wanted by many of Europe’s biggest sides, with a number of Premier League and Serie A clubs interested.

It is expected he will join Richarlison in the middle of the field for the Toffees and could prove to be a formidable partnership.
