The Everton fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that the club are set to meet with an experienced coach.
ESPN are reporting that the club are set to hold talks with current Sevilla boss Unai Emery about taking control at Goodison Park.
The Spaniard has jumped to the top of the list of potential replacements for Roberto Martinez after what was a poor season for the Merseyside club last term.
Emery is a born winner who has led Sevilla to three consecutive Europa League wins, and is exactly the type of tenacious coach the club require to get them battling at the right end of the table next season.
Other names linked with post are Frank De Boer, Manuel Pellegrini and the club’s number one choice Ronald Koeman who it looks like they will miss out on.
The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern would be delighted to have Emery in charge of their club, but think it may be difficult to prise him away from Spain.
Our landlord thinks that with the club under new ownership, a move for someone of the calibre of Unai Emery would be aa fantastic step for the Merseyside outfit.
Everton fans….. What do you make of this news? Would Emery be a good manager for the club? Let us know below!
