Everton will head into next season hoping to build on a positive first outing under manager Ronald Koeman, who managed to secure comfortable top half finish and get the Toffees playing some decent stuff along the way.
It promises to be an interesting transfer window this summer for Everton too, with new backing in the transfer market and the likes of Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku still having uncertain futures.
The Toffees fans here in the Tavern have been speaking with our landlord this week over a few cold beers, and there is a definite hope among those fans that they will enter the market and buy some real top quality players to improve their squad.
One such player who Everton could swoop for is highly rated Scotland and Hull City left back Andrew Robertson.
The flying full back looks certain to move on from the KCom Stadium this summer, with many saying he is simply too good to be playing Championship football with the Tigers.
With Leighton Baines not quite as effective as he once was for Everton, a new left back could well be on Koeman’s agenda, and there are not many much better than Robertson and within a reasonable price range at that.
His ability to break forward and his delivery from dangerous areas make him a perfect modern full back, and he would no doubt be an excellent signin for the Goodison Park club should they decide to move for him.
