Everton continue to turn heads this summer with their big spending, and it does not look like slowing down any time soon, with manager Ronald Koeman adding some real quality to his ranks.
The impending sale of Romelu Lukaku will of course offset some of that spending, and Ross Barkley’s future remains up in the air. However, their spending has still sent a big message to the rest of the league, and they could be big contenders next term.
The Toffees fans here in the Tavern are the most excited we have seen them in a long time, and our landlord has been serving up plenty of ale to them this week as they have been celebrating their summer spree.
However, more players could follow, and one player our landlord thinks could add real quality to the midfielder is Schalke and Germany starlet Max Meyer.
The young midfielder has long been touted as one of the brightest young stars in the German game, and as he gains more experience, it is easy to see why there is such hype around him.
The 21-year-old will no doubt be a man in demand this summer, but Everton have proved now they can attract big names, and he could be the ideal addition to what Koeman is building at Goodison Park.
Meyer can score, create, and run a game from the midfield, and Everton would have a superb player on their hands if they were to capture him.
