Everton have been one of the surprise packages of the summer transfer window, spending near £100m on new talent and showing little sign of that spending slowing down.
Part of the reason for the spending is down to losing star man Romelu Lukaku, but the Toffees have acted quickly and efficiently in bringing in new blood, and they look well set for the new season in the main.
The Everton fans here in the Tavern are buzzing about the new season now, and they think that there’s more to come in terms of new faces before the end of the transfer window.
Our landlord thinks signing a top striker remains a priority for the club though, and one man he thinks can do the business if the club are willing to spend is former Man City man Edin Dzeko.
The big Bosnian striker has been a revelation since sealing a move to Roma, and simply loves scoring goals.
His experience and presence make him the ideal man to play as the focal point in a system using a lone striker, and the likes of Wayne Rooney and Tom Davies will no doubt love having someone like Dzeko to link up with.
Dzeko had a solid record during his time with City in the Premier League previously, and he could well be open to a return to cement his legacy as one of the finest goalscorers in Europe over the past decade.
Toffees fans, what do you think? Would you take Dzeko? Let us know!
