Everton should ensure Alejandro Gomez returns to Goodison Park after Europa League showing

Everton have made just one signing this summer.

The £50m acquisition of Richarlison from Watford is the only player Marco Silva has brought to Goodison Park this summer. The duo worked together at Vicarage Road, and the Brazilian’s best form came under the Portuguese’s tutelage. Everton fans will be hoping for similar performances next season. The Blues kick off the new campaign with a trip to newly promoted Wolves on August 11th.

Silva has until August 9th to add to his Everton squad. The Toffees are on the verge of signing Barcelona full-back, Lucas Digne, who is viewed as a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines. They should also look to bolster their attack following Wayne Rooney’s departure to the MLS.

A perfect signing could be Atalanta forward – Alejandro Gomez. Valued at £16.2m by Transfermarkt, the Argentine enjoyed another stellar season in the Serie A. He scored nine goals and registered 14 assists for his team-mates in all competitions. In the campaign previous, the 30-year-old he bagged 16 and created 12.

Gomez is blessed with blistering pace and can play right across the forward line or as a number ten. He has a keen eye for goal and deadly long-shots – something which Everton found out the hard way; with the Argentinean striker netting a wondergoal against the Toffees earlier in the season.

He is approaching the prime of his career and would give Silva another dimension in the Everton attack.
