Everton have turned a corner in recent times under Marco Silva as they continue to hunt down a European place, with their recent win over Arsenal showing just how deadly they can be.
Of course, securing a European spot would open so many doors for the Toffees in the summer transfer window as they’d then be able to go out and bring in a number of big-name players.
The Merseyside club’s summer transfer window business has worked wonders up until this point in the current campaign, with the likes of Lucas Digne, Bernard, Andre Gomes and Kurt Zouma all excelling.
And, it appears as if the Toffees have identified their priority summer target as Zouma, according to Liverpool Echo.
Indeed, the central defender has been nothing short of dominant at the heart of the defence this season. He’s helped cure the Toffees’ defensive woes and has built a formidable partnership with Michael Keane, so it comes as no surprise that the Merseyside club want to sign him permanently in the summer.
Everton fans have grown to love and adore Gomes in the current campaign as he’s completely transformed Everton’s midfield, having produced one goals and two assists. He’s arguably one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and could help take the club places in the future.
And, Farhad Moshiri could secure the services of the Portugal international for a bargain price as Barcelona are reportedly (as per Mundo Deportivo, via HITC) looking to claim at least €20 million (£17.35 million). Of course, given his performances this season he could attract a fee of at least £30 million, so Everton really should go all out to sign the impressive international midfielder.
