Everton will be looking forward to the coming season under new manager Marco Silva, as the Toffees look to close the gap on the top six and get back amongst the picture at the top end of the Premier League.
Last season was a poor one at Goodison Park in the main, and the Toffees fans will be hoping for vast improvements this time out.
The summer has seen some big changes once again in the squad, and ageing stars like Wayne Rooney and Ashley Williams have gone on to find new homes.
With that in mind, we here at the Tavern think a few new signings could be on the cards, and one player we think could replace Williams is Belgian defender Dedryck Boyata, who is valued at a relatively measley £1.8m by Transfermarkt.
The impressive former Man City ace was a valuable member of the Belgium squad over in Russia this summer, contributing to a third placed finish for Roberto Martinez’s men.
Boyata is a big strong defender, and is someone who will feel he has a point to prove in England despite excelling for Celtic north of the border.
With Williams gone, Jagielka not getting any younger, and Michael Keane not quite finding his feet as yet, Boyata would be the ideal sort of signing.
Everton fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
