The Everton supporting drinkers here in the Football Transfer Tavern are hopeful that their team can secure a place in next season’s Europa League and a strong finish would aid that possibility.
It has been a decent season for the Toffees supporters here in the Tavern and Ronald Koeman has overseen an improvement in the feel-good factor during his maiden campaign in charge at Goodison Park.
The club will look to kick on next season and the long-term aim must be to close the gap between where they are now and the teams who annually battle it out for a place in the top four of the division.
A return to European football could see boss Koeman shop for better quality additions to his squad during the summer and a certain Manchester City youngster would represent a really good signing in the close season.
Flying winger Patrick Roberts has been one of the standout performer during Celtic’s romp to the title and his form will not have gone unnoticed with some Premier League sides.
Given the easier nature of the Scottish Premier League, City would naturally prefer Roberts to be playing regular football in the Premier League and a switch to Everton could be a good move for all parties.
The winger has netted nine goals for the Hoops this season and his pace and versatility to play on either flank would make him a decent signing for the Toffees.
A couple of Everton fans are sat in the beer garden enjoying a pint and they haven’t seen a great deal of Roberts, although they do concede that they have total faith in Koeman when it comes to securing the very best players for the club.
Everton fans, would you welcome this youngster to Goodison Park, let us know in the comments below!!!Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
