Everton should swoop on Manchester City and snap up this classy midfielder this summer

Everton continue to look to build under new manager Sam Allardyce and will be confident of a good finish to the season under the former Bolton and Newcastle man as they look to secure a top ten finish.

A miserable start to the season under Ronald Koeman has been offset somewhat by the form picked up under Allardyce, and he has done a good job of blending a few of the new signings together with getting back to some of the basics what have seen his career serve him so well.

Here in the Tavern, our Toffees fans are normally a rowdy bunch and this week they have been lighting the place up with plenty of chat flying about the upcoming summer window, and just who their club might look to sign under Allardyce.

One player our landlord dropped into the fold this week was Man City star and Celtic loanee Patrick Roberts, who has been excellent for the Bhoys over the course of the last two seasons but does not seem to have a direct route back into the City eleven.

The impressive young attacking midfielder has been at the forefront of the success Celtic have enjoyed under Brendan Rodgers and looks all set to make his impact known in the Premier League next term.

However, with City having such a depth of talent, a move to Everton could well be the best thing for him, and he would no doubt go down a storm at Goodison if he can replicate some of the performances he has put in during his time North of the border.

Toffees fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
