Ronald Koeman and Everton will be hopeful going into the summer that they can build on last seasons positive campaign, and make a real push at breaching the top six next year.
The Toffees will be looking forward to another transfer window in which they will be backed by their new owners, and the Everton fans here in the Tavern are excited to see just who the club looks to bring in.
Our landlord thinks that the Toffees need further reinforcements in attacking positions, and one player he chucked into the conversation with the Everton fans this week was Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts.
A hugely successful season at Celtic has shot Roberts into the limelight, with many expecting him to be knocking on the door of the first team under Pep Guardiola next season.
However, with City already splashing big money in the transfer market before we are even halfway into June, there are suggestions Roberts could be set for another loan move.
Everton could well be wise to take on the young forward. He has pace in abundance, an ability to beat his man and score out of nothing, and has the raw freshness of a young player who plays with little fear.
It would be a big step up for Roberts, but one he would surely cherish, and he is definitely a player Everton could look to take a punt on this summer.
