Metro have some news that Everton fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have some mixed feeling about.
They claim that Croatian forward Nikica Jelavic could well be on his way out of the club after two things became increasingly clear.
Firstly, the former Rangers forward does not seem like he has much of a future at the club.
This is given the fact that he not only has struggled to score this season but has also been limited to very little playing time.
Secondly, he is very much in demand.
It is this that current manager Roberto Martinez has commented on ahead of the start of the transfer window. The high flying Toffees manager claimed: “We’ve had a couple of enquiries from two different clubs for one of our players.
“We’ve had a conversation [with Jelavic] and he has the World Cup around the corner. He needs to be playing minutes and we understand that. We’ll always try to give a good assessment of the situation, but that’s not affecting anyone at the club.
“Whatever happens in January will be for the good of the football club and that’s where the work is.”
Everton are of course making a huge push for the top four and have been one of our teams of the season here in the tavern.
Will Jelavic get a move this January? Let us know your thoughts below.
