Everton star reveals Arsenal admiration

LukakuEyebrows have been raised here in the Transfer Tavern by fans of Everton and Arsenal alike, who have come to the attention of some comments made by Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Mirror runs with quotes where Lukaku was asked who he wanted to play under and the Toffees man made headlines with his response.

“Mourinho is one. (Pep) Guardiola and Wenger. In this order.”

Lukaku was once of Chelsea before Jose Mourinho sold him to Everton, after a successful loan spell, and Toffees punters at the bar are impressed with his desire to want to prove himself to his former manager- believing it shows intent to succeed.

They also accepted the comments on Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola, one of the most high-profile managers in the game, but weren’t too keen on his admiration for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger; believing it could be a subtle come and get me call.

With Arsenal’s strike-force struggling this season, a move for a proven Premier League striker like Lukaku wouldn’t surprise us too much- but Wenger would have to part with a lot of cash.

Everton fans what do you make of this? Innocent admiration or is he eying a chance at Champions League level? Let us know in the comments below!
