The Everton fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that the club are still keen on bringing in a main player to their management team this summer.
The Liverpool Echo is reporting that the Premier League club are still looking to bring in Monchi from Sevilla to be the club’s sporting director.
With Ronald Koeman set to take over at Goodison Park in the next few days the club still want Monchi at the club to be in control of the club’s transfer dealings so Koeman can concentrate fully on the playing side of things at the club.
Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright are set to pay Sevilla £3.8 million to secure the services of Monchi as they look to build their dream team to move the club forward from what was a terrible campaign under former manager Roberto Martinez last season.
Our landlord in The Tavern believes that Monchi would be just as good an appointment as Koeman and can see the club going from strength to strength if both men decide to make the move to Goodison Park this summer.
