Everton have been strongly linked with a move for Porto’s Yacine Brahimi for what feels like an eternity and those links do not appear to be dying down any time soon.
According to a report by L’Expression, the Toffees are ‘still interested’ in the Algeria international attacker.
The 29-year-old is understood to be holding out for a move away from Portugal this summer having refused to sign a new deal with the Dragons and continues to stall any talks regarding a new one.
However, it appears Marco Silva could have a rather large battle on his hands to convince him to come to Goodison Park.
A number of clubs all across Europe are understood to be interested in Brahimi, including Premier League rivals West Ham United and Newcastle United, whilst the report also adds that the player is looking to win titles.
Brahimi is a quality player and definitely someone that is worth pursuing when they are available on a free transfer.
Everton have shown some ambition in the transfer market in recent years, landing the likes of Bernard on a free transfer in the summer after his contract at Shakhtar Donetsk expired, making the Algerian a viable target.
However, with the 29-year-old looking to win titles and having a number of clubs interested in securing his services, whether they can convince him to join them at Goodison Park remains to be seen.
