The Everton fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports discussing a possible return to the club for a former manager.
The Liverpool Echo is reporting that David Moyes is open to a return to Goodison Park this summer, but fans at the club do not want the Scotsman back at the club.
With pressure increasing on Roberto Martinez after what has been a disappointing campaign for the club, reports suggested that David Moyes was a top target to return, but Everton fans have let themselves be known that they would prefer a big name manager to take over at the club.
With a protest against Martinez scheduled for this weekend, and a board meeting to discuss his future planned for later this week it appears that the Spaniard could be shown the door as early as next week, if not at the end of the season.
The thumping 4-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in their last league game was the straw that broke the camels back as far as the fans are concerned and those in The Tavern firmly believe that enough is enough and that Martinez should be replaced.
As for Moyes, they feel that it would be a backward step and want a big name who is a proven winner wherever he has been.
Would Moyes be the wrong call for next Everton manager? Let us know in the comments below!
