Everton will be desperate to kick on and secure a European spot in the current campaign after a busy summer transfer window.
Marco Silva has a very strong squad at his disposal with a couple of signings still yet to make their debuts, so things are definitely looking up. And, it appears as if they’re keeping tabs on a central defender, as according to The Sunday Mirror (21/10; page 67) (via HITC), Everton are flocking to Hamburg to watch David Bates.
It’s been reported that former Rangers defender David Bates is attracting the attention of the likes of Arsenal, Everton, Southampton, Watford and Leicester City.
Interestingly, the 22-year-old appears to have made a positive early impression by helping his current club Hamburg to fourth in the table.
The Toffees managed to secure the services of Kurt Zouma and Yerry Mina during the summer transfer window, so it comes as some surprise that they’re looking at another central defender.
David Bates has the potential to become one of the best defenders in English football if he decides to make the move to the Premier League at some point in the future, with a whole host of clubs taking an interest.
Indeed, it remains to be seen as to why the Merseyside club are looking at bringing in another central defender, but there’s no doubting that Bates is a quality player.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
