Everton have been one of the surprise packages in the current campaign as they continue to thrive under the guidance of Marco Silva.
The Toffees will be desperate to secure a place in the top six this season having asserted their dominance in recent times, with a successful December putting them in a promising position.
Interestingly, Silva received a huge boost on the transfer front recently, as according to The Daily Mail, Gabriel Barbosa wants a move to the Premier League.
Everton have been linked with Gabriel Barbosa for quite a while now, and, it’s understood that the Brazilian wants a move to the Premier League next month.
The forward has been on fire this season, scoring 22 goals in 38 games at Santos while on loan from Inter Milan.
His parent club Inter are prepared to sell for £18 million and Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace have already declared an interest in the 22-year-old.
‘Hopefully everything will be good for everyone if we reach an agreement. There are many things involved, mainly Inter Milan as they hold my rights. It hasn’t been decided yet, but it is very unlikely I will remain in Brazil.
‘The Premier League always had great strikers and it is a joy to watch on TV. It is very competitive, fast-paced and dynamic, with loads of title contenders. There is quality everywhere, that’s why everybody loves it and I am no different. It attracts me a lot.”
The Toffees will be desperate to secure the services of the 22-year-old in January as he could be the final piece to their European puzzle.
Everton have already managed to get the best out of Richarlison in the current campaign, so it comes as no surprise that Marco Silva is looking to bring his fellow countryman to Goodison Park.
Gabriel Barbosa provided the Toffees with a huge boost recently as he has now stated that he wants a move to the Premier League, so they’re now in a great position to secure his services as the most attractive team, with the greatest chance of securing a European spot and silverware.
Indeed, having witnessed Cenk Tosun’s woeful performances in front of goal this season, Silva desperately needs to bring in someone like Barbosa to add an extra attacking spark.
