Everton will be looking for a reaction when they meet Burnley at Turf Moor on Boxing Day in the Premier League.
Marco Silva witnessed his side get thumped 6-2 by Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend and he will want to see an immediate improvement on Wednesday.
Idrissa Gana Gueye could be set to make a return to the side having missed the last two matches with a groin injury.
The Senegal international missed the defeats to Manchester City and Spurs and may be welcomed back into Silva’s side.
Andre Gomes, who was forced off in the heavy loss to Tottenham with a knee injury, could also be available for the encounter.
Everton are on a poor run of form currently, however, Gueye and Gomes’ return will come as a huge boost to Silva and the Toffees.
The duo have played key roles for the Merseyside outfit in the past and could look to help the club turn things around on Wednesday.
The Goodison Park outfit have not won a game since the end of November when they defeated Cardiff City and will look to the game against Burnley as the perfect opportunity.
