Everton will host Manchester City at Goodison Park on Wednesday evening in the Premier League.
The Toffees enter the match in rather poor form, having suffered six defeats in their last nine matches in the top-flight, as the pressure starts to build on Marco Silva.
And, according to a match preview by Sky Sports, the Goodison Park outfit may have been handed a timely boost ahead of the game.
Idrissa Gana Gueye is expected to make a return to the side after recovering from a groin injury.
The Senegal international has been a key performer for Everton, as has Lucas Digne, who is back following suspension.
Phil Jagielka and Yerry Mina are both unavailable and remain on the sidelines with a knock and foot injuries.
The news that Gueye is available for the game will be encouraging for Everton and Silva as they prepare to welcome Manchester City to Goodison Park.
There will, however, be questions about how well the Senegal international performs though after a late bid from Paris Saint-Germain on Deadline Day was rejected and left the player unhappy.
Digne’s return will also be welcomed as he has the ability to cause Pep Guardiola’s side problems from the wide areas and with set pieces.
