Everton will be looking to make it back-to-back wins when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
Marco Silva’s side have had a difficult few months and have had a rather invariable patch of form but they managed to return to winning ways against Huddersfield Town in midweek.
Wolves have been overachieving in their first season back in the Premier League and have had some outstanding performances, including in midweek when they defeated West Ham United in convincing fashion.
And, the challenge may have been made even tougher as some potentially concerning news has emerged for The Toffees.
According to the club’s official website, Everton could be without five key men for the game against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Yerry Mina and Phil Jagielka are both definitely out with minor injuries, whilst Idrissa Gana Gueye and Leighton Baines are both doubtful.
Lucas Digne is suspended for the game after picking up a red card in the match against Huddersfield in midweek.
Wolves will pose Everton a really difficult challenge on Saturday and the potential absences will hurt their chances of getting a positive result.
Mina being unavailable will be a big miss, whilst there will be concerns over Gueye’s fitness, as well as his mental state.
The midfielder is thought to have been upset with the club’s decision to reject a late offer from Paris Saint-Germain on Deadline Day – so there may be a keen eye on how the Senegal international performs through the rest of the season.
