Everton thought to be tracking Eder Militao

Everton are thought to have been on a scouting mission in Portugal recently and it appears the man that they have been looking at has been identified.

According to a report by UOL, the Toffees are understood to be keen on Porto’s Eder Militao.

The media outlet have claimed that Marco Silva’s side have scouted the Brazilian defender on two separate occasions, as the Premier League side had watched in action in the Champions League as well.

The 20-year-old has been turning heads with his performances since arriving at Porto in August, however, he is not expected to remain in Portugal for too much longer.

Everton are thought to be keen on adding Militao to their ranks and teaming him up with fellow Brazilians Bernard and Richarlison at Goodison Park as they look to improve on their Premier League position.

The Verdict:

Silva will need to improve his Everton defence if they are to have any hope of competing for a place in European competition next season.

Although they still have the likes of Yerry Mina to make his debut, the Toffees have already shipped 11 goals in the Premier League and will be concerned heading forward.

Militao could look to help solve those issues, however, Everton could struggle to sign the £7.2million-rated enforcer, as per Transfermarkt, from Porto as they will likely want to keep him at the Dragons and demand a huge fee for his release.
