Everton fans feel confident in the Football Transfer Tavern as they have emerged as favourites to snap up Ipswich Town’s rising star as a cluster of Premier League clubs have also declared an interest in the youngster.
According to The Mirror, Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is set to beat the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal to Tyrone Mings in January.
This is after the full back became the Championship’s Player of the Month in September which has led to an increased level of interest from the top flight.
Ipswich boss, Mick McCarthy hopes to ward off interest from the bigger clubs by tying him down on a new contract and admits the club rejected a big offer for the highly-rated defender during this summer’s transfer window.
The Toffees have scouted and monitored the player for a lengthy amount of time now and they will hope their long-term interest will be the difference in signing him, with Crystal Palace representing the other interested party.
Punters in the tavern wouldn’t be surprised if he was to turn down Everton and opt for one of the London clubs as he may want to stay closer to friends that he has in Ipswich.
