It’s been a terrible start to the campaign for 18th-placed Everton, but they are looking to the future.
Everton are reportedly monitoring Bolton Wanderers duo Ronan Darcy and Dennis Politic, according to Football Insider.
The club are scouting them both this season and intend to closely monitor their development.
The youngsters have both been handed starting places at Wanderers following the club’s close brush with administration, in an effort to strengthen their squad as much as possible.
Both men have impressed hugely for an extremely depleted Bolton side, with winger Politic starting every game for the club this season and scoring in cup competitions against the likes of Rochdale and Bradford.
After being shoe-horned into the team, the Romanian youth international has shown that he is capable of becoming a mainstay in this Bolton side – while the same can also be said for teammate Darcy.
Grabbing a goal in the 5-2 cup defeat to Rochdale, Darcy has shown flashes as well.
Before this season, the two went out on non-league loan spells, with Politic at Salford City and Darcy with Skelmersdale United.
Now, it appears the teenagers have even performed well enough to start being monitored by the Toffees.
Impressing in this Bolton side is no easy feat either, with the club dramatically swerving liquidation and being rock bottom of League One with -8 points – still without their first win of the season.
