Moussa Dembele has been in red-hot form for Lyon this season, and now the ‘next logical step in his career’ could be a move to Goodison Park, with Football Insider reporting on Everton’s interest.
The former Celtic forward is a wanted prodigy, scoring goals consistently at a high level for the last few seasons despite his relatively young age.
Moussa Dembele is willing to quit Lyon and move back to England next year amid strong Everton interest.
At just 23 years of age, Dembele has already managed to rack up 64 career goals in all competitions – with five of them in the Champions League (per WhoScored).
Bursting onto the scene with Fulham, the French forward, in his first full season with the club, scored 15 goals and registered six assists in the Championship – highlighting his eye for the net and making Scottish champions Celtic come calling with an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Indeed, Dembele’s price tag would only increase from there, going on to dominate the Scottish Premiership and contribute greatly to two consecutive treble-winning seasons – including scoring Celtic’s first Old Firm hat-trick in the league since 1966.
Thanks to his impressive stint with the Glaswegian club, the France youth international moved back to his home country and signed for Lyon – where he has continued to display his goal-scoring prowess.
Now, after six goals in eight for the club this term, Premier League outfits have been linked with signing the forward, with Football Insider reporting that Dembele would be willing to leave Lyon if a move to English football’s top flight was on the cards.
This is a major boost for Everton, who are reportedly keeping a watchful eye on the striker.
With his impressive track record, consistently finding the net wherever he goes, the youngster could be a high-priority target next season for the Toffees – who will surely be desperate to find a prolific No.9 with plenty of years ahead of him if their Moise Kean experiment does not work out.
