Premier League outfit Everton are set to kick-off a £75 million summer spending spree with the signing of Las Palmas defender Mauricio Lemos, according to today’s edition of The Telegraph.
The top flight club have sent scouts over to Spain to watch the central defender in recent months and the 21-year-old looks to be a top target for the Toffees during their summer recruitment drive.
With Phil Jagielka not getting any younger it appears that boss Ronald Koeman is keen to strengthen his back line and the Uruguayan talent could be a shrewd piece of summer business given his potential.
One stumbling block over any potential deal which would involve Lemos arriving at Goodison Park is a work permit and given the player’s age it is not certain he would granted permission to move to the Premier League.
A couple of Everton fans are having a gamble on the fruit machine here in the Tavern and they believe that Lemos would be a decent signing, although they are intrigued as to whether or not he can cut it in the English game.
Everton fans, would you welcome Lemos to Goodison Park? Who else will be part of the £75 million recruitment drive? Let us know in the comments below!!!
