Everton want to bolster midfield options with move for Swansea City man

Premier League outfit Everton are set to target Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson this summer with a fee of £20 million likely to be required in order to secure the Icelandic international.

According to The Telegraph, it is thought that the Toffees will ramp up their efforts to secure the Swans’ star performer, even if Ross Barkley opts to sign a new contract with the club this summer.

The 27-year-old has been integral to Swansea’s fortunes this season and his 10 goals have seen the Welsh club secure Premier League survival for another campaign, when relegation seemed nailed on at one point during the campaign.

Everton are set to splash the cash during the summer and their inclusion in next season’s Europa League will naturally call for them to have a bigger squad of players for next season.

One Toffees supporter is having a quick go on the games machine here in the Tavern and he believes that Sigurdsson would be a tremendous signing for the club, stating that he hopes a deal can be done quickly to avoid him being poached by anyone else.

Everton fans, would you welcome the Swansea player to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
