The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted to have wrapped up the signing of Cenk Tosun from Besiktas. They are hoping that he can be the man to fill Romelu Lukaku’s boots and start scoring plenty of goals for the Toffees.
But Everton are apparently not quite done yet in the transfer market when it comes to strikers. With Kevin Mirallas set to leave and join Olympiakos, Everton want to snap up at least one more striker and two names have appeared on their wishlist.
According to The Sun, Everton want to sign Diafra Sakho and Moussa Dembele. Sam Allardyce has identified West Ham United’s want away forward Sakho and Celtic danger man Dembele as two top additions for his squad.
Sam Allardyce knows Sakho well from his time at West Ham as he brought the Senegal international to England. Under Allardyce, the 28-year-old had an incredible start to life in England and scored plenty of goals but he has tried to escape West Ham in recent years.
He could have his wish granted with Everton holding an interest in him.
Moussa Dembele is also a target for the Toffees. The 21-year-old is one of the hottest prospects in Europe and he would cost about £20m, which could deter Everton.
Everton do not need to spend big on another striker after shelling £27m on Cenk Tosun. Dembele is a great prospect but at £20m, they would be better off strengthening elsewhere. Sakho would be good as a back-up option if Everton could tempt him away for cheap but West Ham apparently want £15m – which he is not worth.
