Andre Gomes has been starring for Everton this season, however, doubts about his long-term future continue to remain.
The Portugal international is currently on loan at the Toffees from Barcelona and has played a key role for Marco Silva’s side in what has been a rather difficult campaign.
There is a wide consensus that the Premier League outfit would like to make the deal for the 25-year-old permanent, however, it appears they have not communicated that to the Spanish giants.
According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, via Sport Witness, Everton are yet to inform the Blaugrana about what they intend to do.
Barcelona are believed to be keen on offloading Gomes as he appears to be surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou.
Gomes has been an excellent addition for Everton this season and, as mentioned, has played a key role for Silva throughout the campaign.
It would make extreme sense for the Premier League outfit to try and bring the 25-year-old to Goodison Park on a permanent deal, whilst Barcelona’s keenness to offload him plays right into their hands.
The ball certainly appears to be in Everton’s court over a possible transfer, although they will need to be careful should they decide to stall over making a decision on whether to sign him.
