Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have already turned their attentions to the upcoming transfer window in the hope that this summer, their signings will make significant improvements to the side.
Too many times already, Everton have been reminded of their dreadful spending spree last time out so this summer will be a crucial few months to make sure that doesn’t happen again. They have a lot to improve on with the team struggling all season long, so the board again have to be prepared to back the team and whoever maybe the manager at Goodison Park.
Whilst the Toffees need a lot of extra quality, us punters think they should take advantage of the relegation-threatened sides and attempt to prize those players away. A player we think must be persuaded to Goodison Park is Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand, who is valued at £18.00 million on Transfermarkt.
Bertrand has been captain of the Saints during their troubling times of late and remains one of the few players to be worthy of credit in the Southampton team. Simply, they have been very poor and lots of clubs may be circling around their players, should they be relegated.
Everton would have realised that Leighton Baines is edging nearer and nearer to the end of his career and with this in mind, we can’t think of a better replacement than Ryan Bertrand. Having featured in all but three of Southampton’s Premier League fixtures, the 28-year-old is a reliable, quality addition that Everton quite simply have to make.
Thoughts Everton fans… Would Bertrand be a good replacement for the soon to be retiring Leighton Baines?
