£7.2m-rated assist king would be an amazing signing as Everton look to rebuild frontline

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has begun the winter transfer window in a positive fashion, securing the early signature of striker Cenk Tosun from Besiktas in a deal in the region of £27 million.

The arrival of the Turkish international has lifted the moods of Toffees fans here in The Transfer Tavern, who now believe their side to be destined for a top-seven finish following an abysmal start to the year under former boss, Ronald Koeman. Our landlord caught up with fans over a couple of pints to chat all things Everton, and the visiting Liverpudlian bunch were keen to see Allardyce continue to stretch the club’s financial muscles this month. Chat turned to areas in need of strength, with a new winger high on the list for fans. A number of options cropped up from across Europe, before our landlord suggested another swoop on the Turkish top flight for Istanbul Basaksehir’s, Edin Visca.

The Bosnian international – rated at £7.2m on Transfermarkt – has proven a loyal servant to the Super Lig side, joining in 2011 and sticking with the club despite their relegation to the second tier in 2013. However the player’s ten goals and ten assists that season secured an instant promotion, and Basaksehir have not looked back since. Pipped to the title by Besiktas last season, the club lie top of the table at this stage, with Visca topping the assist charts with an impressive seven lay-ons. The player is an impressive creative force with bags of ability, and the 27-year-old could now be ready to make the switch to one of Europe’s top leagues with Everton.

Everton fans, is another winger high on your priorities list this month? Let us know!
