It’s been a solid start to the season for the Toffees, who are so far unbeaten in August. Marco Silva will be hoping his club can continue their unbeaten run into September.
Marco Silva has reason to be optimistic heading into September, the disciplinary record the only real concern in the opening three fixtures. Richarlison has begun the season in a rich vein of form, once again working under Marco Silva, but a sending off for lashing out in his last fixture against Bournemouth will see him ruled out of the next couple of Premier League games. In his absence, Turkish centre-forward Cenk Tosun can prove himself to be a pivotal member of the Everton squad, if he can score a couple of goals in September, he will truly show his value to the side.
A key man in the Everton squad is undoubtedly England international stopper Jordan Pickford. The Sunderland-born keeper was in fine form for England in the Russia World Cup, and if he could help Everton to some clean sheets in September they could have a real dream month. Despite being unbeaten, Everton have conceded 5 goals in three games and are yet to have kept a clean sheet.
Seven points from their September fixtures would be a good return from Silva’s men. They really ought to be taking three points from their home fixture against Huddersfield Town, and are very capable of achieving positive results against West Ham United and Fulham. Their toughest challenge in September is a trip to the Emirates to face Unai Emery’s Arsenal. If the Toffees achieve seven points from their September, it will be a dream month, and fans of the Merseyside club will enter October believing anything is possible.
