Everton have made a decent start to life under Marco Silva, sitting comfortably in sixth place in the Premier League standings.

The Portuguese tactician has completely transformed the Everton squad who are starting to adapt to his attacking philosophy. After a dreadful campaign under the stewardship of Sam Allardyce, the Toffees finally look back to their best. With the squad gelling well and a new stadium on the way, Everton fans have a reason to be optimistic.

The January transfer window is now less than a month away, and Everton should be looking to bolster their ranks. Silva enjoyed plenty of success in the market during the summer and will work tirelessly with Marcel Brands to identify potential targets.

One man who he should look to sign is Watford powerhouse – Abdoulaye Doucoure. Valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, the Frenchman has been a key player for the Hornets since joining from Granada back in 2016. Doucoure worked with Silva during his time with the Hornets, ending last season with seven goals and three assists. The midfielder has started the new campaign in similar fashion, creating three goals for his team-mates already under Javi Gracia.

The 25-year-old has developed into one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the division during his time at Vicarage Road. Doucoure would add real steel in the engine room, averaging 2.2 tackles per game this season, and would form a fantastic midfield pivot alongside Idrissa Gueye. The Frenchman loves to transition defence into attack and has averaged 1.3 key passes per game this season suggesting he would link up perfectly with Richarlison in the attack (WhoScored).

Everton could have to beat Paris St Germain to secure his signature. However, the Parisians are tied up in financial fair play regulations which could allow the Blues to swoop in.

Everton fans, thoughts?
