Everton are already thought to be preparing for the future, and fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with the news coming out that they have managed to tie down one of their brightest prospects.
And that’s because, according to the club’s official website, young midfielder Beni Baningime has signed a new long-term deal to remain at Goodison Park, keeping him at the club until June 2022.
The 19-year-old made his breakthrough for the Toffees this season, making his first team debut in the Carabao Cup against Chelsea, before going on to make a total of 12 appearances across all competitions.
The locals will be pleased that another Everton academy graduate has proven his worth to the team, with the Democratic Republic of Congo youngster continuing to impress those at Goodison Park.
Baningime revealed his delight about signing the new four-year deal and stated that it was where he wants to be and fight for his place in the first-team, telling the official website: ‘I’m really happy to sign a new contract and so proud because it represents what I’ve always wanted – which is to be around the first team and fighting for my place.’
And news of this agreement is sure to come as good news to our resident Toffees supporters, several of whom are expecting big things from the 19-year-old in the coming years.
Landlord’s Verdict: The Everton fans in the Tavern will be delighted that the 19-year-old has committed his future to the club for the long term, and will be hoping to see him in action more regularly next season.
