Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern will have been disappointed with what they saw from their side last weekend against Manchester City in the Premier League and will be concerned with the number of goals being conceded.
That is a concern shared by Sam Allardyce and he is already thought to be preparing for next season with his transfer targets, with Wilfried Kanon being identified by one. Indeed, The Sun claims the Toffees are interested in bringing the Ivory Coast international from Den Haag in the summer in a deal that could be around £2million.
Everton are thought to be keen to add defensive reinforcements to their side for next season and the former England manager is wanting to bring in a number of players to bolster the squad. With that in mind, the 24-year-old has been impressing in the Eredivisie and has caught the eye of Allardyce, however, a number of other clubs around Europe are rumoured to be monitoring his progress.
It is believed Villarreal, Eibar and Real Betis are all interested in signing Kanon, however, the Toffees are hopeful the lure of Premier League football would be the deciding factor.
Everton fans in the Tavern will be hoping a deal can get done for Kanon, considering it could only cost them £2million for a player who has been touted with a bright future, whilst knowing that their defence needs a lot of improvement.
The Toffees currently have Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka, who are both ageing, whilst Ramiro Funes Mori continues to recover from a massive injury, leaving locals in doubt how well he will do when he returns.
