Although they’re yet to make any noises in the transfer window, plenty of transfer activity is expected at Everton in the coming weeks.
And one player set for the Goodison Park exit door is Yannick Bolasie, as reported by the Daily Star. With the 29-year-old set to be moved on, a forward spot in Everton’s squad would open up and the player Marco Silva should look to fill it with is Chelsea winger Pedro.
Pedro, who is valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt, only has a year to run on his contract which means Chelsea could cash in on the Spaniard before the new season kicks off.
Pedro has the ability and is the calibre of player that can help Everton make that jump to the next level in the forthcoming campaign. His versatility, experience and overall quality would add much to Silva’s squad.
Despite initially struggling to adapt to English football, Pedro played a huge part in Chelsea’s 2016/17 Premier League winning season, and while he wasn’t able to reach those heights again in the Blues’ failed title defence, the former Barcelona forward would still be a huge coup for Everton.
With the backing of majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, Everton could easily afford to pay for Pedro’s transfer fee and wages in a move that may help the Toffees reduce the gap between themselves and the Premier League’s top six.
