Life amongst the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern of late hasn’t actually been as good as you might think. While Sam Allardyce’s arrival sparked an upturn in form at Goodison Park, our resident Toffees still aren’t all too sweet on the former England manager’s style of play.
Indeed, while Big Sam is barely working with the most balanced squad in the world, our resident Evertonians would love to see a bit more attacking impetus every weekend. With that in mind, a report from Sky Sports has gone down a storm amongst those propping up our today.
Citing comments made by Allardyce at the club’s general meeting last night, they reveal that Republic of Ireland international Seamus Coleman has returned to training at Finch Farm. 10 months ago, the defender suffered a horrific leg break injury on international duty against Wales and is now said to have returned.
“Seamus Coleman is due back. He has started training”, said Big Sam.
One of the best full-backs in the Premier League, our local Everton fans are absolutely delighted. Now, they just hope he gets back to his best.
A Coleman in full flow would add oh so much to Allardyce’s Everton. Providing he can get back to his best, he’d add an element pace to their sometimes slow style of play, stretching defences and allowing some of the attacking midfielders space to create havoc.
