Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting the club to make movements in the transfer window this summer, as they will want to forget about last season’s awful campaign.
The Toffees replaced Sam Allardyce with Marco Silva last month, and the new manager will be keen to make a number of additions, with the help of Marcel Brands.
The new director of football joined from PSV Eindhoven this summer and is said to have left on excellent terms, yet he could be about to rock their relationship as he tries to strengthen his new club.
And that’s because, according to a report in The Liverpool Echo, Everton are planning to raid the Dutch outfit for Hirving Lozano, who has been impressing for Mexico at the World Cup.
The winger, who has only been in Holland for one season, had a memorable debut season following Brands decision to bring him from Pachuca, with the 22-year-old netting 19 goals and laying on 11 assists for the Dutch giants.
The club will need to wait on the player to make a decision about his future once his World Cup campaign finishes, which promises to be successful for the 22-year-old as he scored the only goal of the game in their 1-0 victory over holders Germany.
Landlord’s Verdict: The Everton fans would be delighted if they could bring a player of Lozano to Goodison Park this summer, especially if he continues the run of form he has been showing for the past year.
The winger would definitely add some pace and creativity to help the Toffees be at the right end of the table come the end of the season.
