Bringing in this £16.2m-rated England man could bring Europa League back to Everton

Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern seem rather disappointed as their turbulent Premier League season continues, even in the capable hands of Sam Allardyce.

Having spent around £150 million on new players last summer, many football fans were predicting that Everton would place very high in the Premier League this season. A few games in though and this was evident not to be the case as the summer additions weren’t capable of living up to their huge price-tags. A flurry of goals were conceded and this meant that early on in the season, the Toffees were flirting with relegation.

One defender who could fix a few problems in defence for the Toffees though is Manchester United’s Phil Jones, who is worth £16.20 million according to Transfermarkt.

With Ashley Williams ageing and Michael Keane struggling for form, Englishman Phil Jones could be a welcome signing at Goodison Park. Jones, 26, has played in 21 Premier League games for United this season and has been solid for Jose Mourinho’s side, though surely United are looking at sexier options.

Manchester United this summer though will likely delve into the transfer market once again and Phil Jones could find his position taken by a bigger name centre-back. This could be the perfect opportunity for Everton to swoop in and bring in a defender who would certainly help put a stop to Everton’s goal leakage.
