It’s been quite the summer for the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern, who’ve enjoyed watching Ronald Koeman splash the cash to build a new team on Merseyside.
Indeed, it seems the Toffees in the Tavern – as well as those online – particularly enjoyed watching their new recruits strut their stuff against Sevilla yesterday, though for a different reason.
While the likes of Jordan Pickford, Sandro Ramirez (who notched his first goal in Royal Blue) and a certain Wayne Rooney did play well in the 2-2 draw with Los Rojiblancos, it was the commemorative Dixie Dean-inspired kit the players were wearing that drew a lot of attention.
It celebrated the 125th anniversary of Goodison Park and quite frankly, is a wonderful garment of clothing. For many of our local Evertonians, they’re wishing that was the shirt Koeman’s men were donning throughout the course of the campaign.
With that in mind, here’s a closer look at what Everton fans made of it.
Love this kit. #EFC

Can't we swap this kit for our terrible new home shirt? #EFC #EFCmatchday #everton https://t.co/5g8oMu3Rr7

That Everton kit worn today should be the Everton kit for the rest of time. Classy, stylish, traditional… What a football kit! #EFC
