Everton have gone on a barren run since destroying a pre-season opposition 22-0, losing all of their recent friendlies.

Whilst that isn't the end of the world, the Toffees would have liked to at least perform well to give fans some much needed optimism for life with Marco Silva. That yet hasn't happened and so Everton will be hoping to invest more money into the transfer market, in order to sign players who will have the ability to have a significant impact on their upcoming Premier League campaign.

A player who could do exactly that is Chelsea outcast Danny Drinkwater, who is valued at £18 million on Transfermarkt.

The 28-year-old only joined Stamford Bridge last summer but after making just 5 Premier League starts, his future at the club already looks bleak. The former Leicester man earned his move to Chelsea on the back of brilliant performances for the Foxes alongside now Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante but since the two have barley been given the chance to combine.

Everton would be guaranteed to get a good deal despite his lack of game-time last season though, based on the terrific performances he has previously shown, mixed in with the desire to show Chelsea exactly what Danny Drinkwater is capable of given the chance.

Morgan Schneiderin similarly suffered with a lack of game-time and form last season, meaning that Drinkwater could be the ideal replacement for the possibly outgoing Frenchman. Whatever happens, the Toffees must make bringing in Danny Drinkwater their number one priority seeing how he can dictate a game with his great passing range and tremendous stamina in the heart of midfield.
